CloudSocket - Business and IT-Cloud Alignment using a Smart Socket
The project aims to encompass a "hybrid process" modelling framework that reconciliates semantic inference, rule-based inference, meta-modelling management techniques and knowledge management techniques in order to bring SMEs closer to the Cloud by making it attractive for them to incorporate cloud resources and components for their realization of their goals. The proposed framework implements a layered approach for managing the complexity of bridging the semantic distance from business process to workflow configuration of Business Processes in the Cloud.
CloudSocket is funded by the European Commission.

LearnPAd - Model-Based Social Learning for Public Administrations
In modern society public administrations (PAs) are undergoing a transformation of their perceived role from controllers to proactive service providers, and are under pressure to constantly improve their service quality while coping with quickly changing context (changes in law and regulations, societal globalization, fast technology evolution) and decreasing budgets. Civil servants are challenged to understand and put in action latest procedures and rules within tight time constraints. Learn PAd will build an innovative holistic e-learning platform for PAs that enables process-driven learning and fosters cooperation and knowledge- sharing.
LearnPAd is funded by the European Commission, Technology-Enhanced Learning.

funded by the Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI.
plugIT - Business and IT Alignment using a Model-Based Plug-in Framework
Today we are witnessing the necessity to align Business and Information Technology (IT) and a respective change in the role that IT plays for businesses. IT is changing its role from an enabler to an industrial sector in its own right -providng IT infrastructure and services to any business. Based on the assumption that businesses in different sectors of the economy will require IT for different reasons and in different ways, this project aspires to develop an IT-Socket that will realize the vision of businesses "plugging-in" to IT. Model-based approaches and ITGovernance are prominent candidates to bridge evolving business contexts and IT. This challenge can be met by capitalizing on semantic technologies for IT-Governance.
plugIT is a focused research project (STREP), funded by the European Commission.

MATURE - Continuous Social Learning in Knowledge Networks
Agility requires that companies and their employees together and mutually dependently learn and develop their competencies efficiently. For that agility we need to leverage the intrinsic motivation of employees to engage in collaborative learning activities, and combine it with a new form of organisational guidance. For that purpose, MATURE conceives individual learning processes to be interlinked in a knowledge-maturing process in which knowledge changes in nature. The goal of MATURE is to understand this maturing process better, based on empirical studies, and to build tools and services to reduce maturing barriers.
MATURE is a large-scale integrating project (IP), funded by the European Commission, Unit for Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL).
